Fiberglass Schleiftex
Schleiftex fiberglass mesh is a reinforcing base for the manufacture of abrasive wheels. The mesh acts as a connecting element securing the abrasive material in the form during pressing-in and is an important component of the abrasive wheel reliability, giving it strength during rotation up to 3000 rpm without breaking.
The Schleiftex fiberglass mesh is supplied in rolls or discs, and it is also possible to produce a base for flap wheels according to individual customer drawings.

Schleiftex fiberglass has leno weaving; the cell size is from 1.7 x 1.5 mm to 5.2 x 5.7 mm. The fiberglass mesh is impregnated with formaldehyde resins. It is possible to produce the mesh according to a custom order. The resin content is 27-50%, the volatiles content is 8-15%.
BauTex company produces mesh discs – intermediateds, which are further used for manufacturing of abrasive cutting or grinding wheels. Due to their use, the tensile strength is significantly increased, which in turn makes it possible to increase the speed of the wheel rotation. Fiberglass reinforced grinding wheels are safer to use. During bending and hooking, the abrasive pieces are held by a mesh on a wheel and the fragments do not fly apart during rotation.
